Menu bar

MyTwig puts an icon in the menu bar (the notification area on Windows and Linux). Click it to open a panel of what needs you, without opening the main window.

  • Needs Me: what’s waiting on you, most urgent first: your failing CI, reviews requested from you, your pull requests with changes requested or conflicts, those ready to merge, and merges or rebases stopped in your repositories. “All done” when there’s nothing.
  • PRs: the pull requests of your filters, with their CI.
  • Notifications: your unread GitHub and GitHub Enterprise notifications, issues assigned to you, and releases of repositories you watch.
  • Repos: your recent repositories: ahead, behind, changed or in conflict.

Tiles above the tabs count reviews to do, your own to fix, failing CI and unread notifications. Settings → Menu Bar → Tiles can show activity instead: commits today, lines changed today, CI pass rate this week, average time to merge, or a four-week commit heatmap.

Each pull request has a pill showing where it stands: draft, conflict, changes requested, CI failed, waiting for CI, mergeable, or approved. Ones updated since you last looked are bold. Ones idle for 3 days or more say so (change the time in Settings).

Click the checks line to see every check run, failed first, with how long each took. Hover a pull request to open it, copy its link, check it out in its own worktree, approve it, or merge your own once it’s mergeable.

Copy All copies a list of links, as rich text or Markdown.

The icon gets a red dot while CI fails or a repository has conflicts. Settings → Menu Bar → Beside the icon shows a count of what waits on you, the most urgent item, or nothing.

Settings → Menu Bar sets:

  • Filters: role (review requested, authored, mentioned, assigned), account, owner, repository, labels, drafts, and anything in your forge’s search syntax. Prefix with a minus to exclude.
  • GitHub Enterprise hosts.
  • Fetch interval for its repositories.
  • Notifications for checks passing or failing and new commits.

Accounts are the ones in Settings → Accounts: GitHub, GitHub Enterprise, GitLab, Gitea, Forgejo and Bitbucket.

Closing the main window keeps MyTwig running in the menu bar by default. Settings → General → When the last window closes can quit instead. Turn off Show in Dock to keep MyTwig in the menu bar only.
